Toxic Lights of Peril Book 3 eBook AC Bextor MaryNancy Smith

Told through Shame’s point of view, the final installment of the Lights of Peril MC takes place on the ‘implied’ wedding day.
Shame is plagued with doubts surrounding his love for Mace. He loves her. He’s loved her since she was five years old, but feels he doesn’t deserve her. This uncertainty is surfacing while struggling to forget the loss of his tragic childhood.
“What if the trigger has already been set and I’m going to wake up one day and realize I’m my parent’s son in their way of evil? The thought sickens me. I’m no good without Mace. I never have been. She’s the one person in my life I would refuse to live without. If I ever treated her and Ryder like my father treated my mother and I, it would make for an easy decision. I would kill myself.”
Shame’s childhood wasn’t filled with happiness and love. It was heart wrenching, and abusive. Used by his father and resented by his mother, a young Neil struggles through his days waiting for an escape; a savior.
“As he seethes his anger onto me I feel the spit from his words land on my face and in it I smell his whiskey and coke coming down like rain over my blissful day. I’m working for them now. I’m nine and I’ve just been interviewed and hired for my very first job… running drugs.”
Once meeting Doc, Lynda, Mace, Hem, and Sadey - his life changes from desolate to hopeful.
“At just five years old, she found her way into my heart and loved me in a way I never thought I could be loved. All that was before I ever even knew I needed her.”
Throughout the story you learn why Shame has become the person that he is. Intense, raw, powerful, and most of all – protective of those he loves the most. In the end he finds himself surrounded by everything he had ever hoped for.
“The storms I waited out were violent and unstable, but once finding them I found the unconditional love that I’d ached for in my search for them. It’s in this moment, among the sounds of monitors and babies crying and the feel of Mace in my arms, holding me tight, just as she always had, that I realize - I am finally well and truly home.”

Editorial Reviews
“I rated the first two books with 5 stars because they were fantastic but Toxic just blew me out of the water and deserves 5 stars and many, many more. It includes not just the bad but also the good which includes Mace, Hem, Sadie, Lynda and Doc and how their relationships evolved.” Diane – Read with Diane book blog
“It includes not just the bad but also the good which includes Mace, Hem, Sadie, Lynda and Doc and how their relationships evolved. He is truly struggling to find peace with his past, so that he can move forward with Mace. After he finds what he is looking for.... it's beautiful!” Tracy – Ramblings from Beneath the Sheets book blog
“The pain, the suffering and the loss that Shame endured was heartbreaking…but in those moments of happiness, whether they were with Mace, Hem, Sadey, or even Mace and Hem’s mother, Lynda, you realize that without all that, what Shame went through, in the end it was worth it.” Danielle – Mean Girls Luv Book’s
“Shame had me devouring every page of this book. I loved getting to know the real Shame and everything he's about.” Dana – Madam Hooks Book Blog

I'm rating Toxic, an amazing, awesome story 10 stars! I can't say I've ever read a story like this one. An extremely well-written back-story of Shame's history with Hem, Mace and Sadey. The love story that began from the first moment he met Mace at the age of five advancing every one or two years, through to the present, their wedding day. Toxic was my favorite of the series, but Holding On and The Way Home were definitely close seconds.**Spoilers**
This is the story of Shame who came from rough beginnings with an abusive father and weak, spineless mother with a drug addiction. Physically and mentally abused by his father who used him to run drugs to MC clubs, which is how he met Doc. He did not grow up knowing love until he met his angel, Lynda, Hem's mother, at the age of eleven. They meet when he offers to help her get into her locked car in exchange for some food. Lynda loved him immediately and showed him the first act of kindness in his young life when she touched his cheek and asked him for his name. It is that same day that he meets Hem, Sadey and Mace and so Shame's life begins.
This is a very solid series about two main characters in a MC club, brothers by choice, not by blood. The series doesn't spend a lot of time about the day-to-day activites of the Peril MC club itself, such as what the club does to earn income and their interaction with other the rival MC clubs. Angels in Hell, was not, IMO, even a secondary storyline. The series is primarily about the relationships between Hem/Sadey and Shame/Mace - their history, their families and their love stories.
I will definitely read this series again and look forward to reading more books by A.C. Bextor.

Toxic Lights of Peril Book 3 eBook AC Bextor MaryNancy Smith Reviews
Shame! That poor little boy, the confused teen, the lost young man and finally the tried and true, rock solid man. What a journey! This book is thought provoking, insidious, demanding, and at times, gut-wrenchingly sad.
I'm going to read it again, right away. Oh! By-the-way, A.C. Vector is a hell of an author. If I could, I'd give this book 10 stars!
I absolutely love finding out what makes a man tick...especially an man whose been bruised and broken by a violent past. Shame is no different. He loves Mace unconditionally but often times he questions himself. He wonders if he will be a good man, good provider and ultimately wonders if situations from his past will come back to haunt him. More so repeat themselves with his life with Mace.
He's gearing up to take the biggest step in his life, but before he can do that, he must reflect on his own life. I loved talking this walk down memory row with Shame. I understand so much more about the man he has become and the man he ultimately wants to be. I felt heart break and pain as well as the moments of his happiness and clarity as he remembers the life he had and the life he wants..
AC Bextor continues to be a master story teller. She has a brilliant way with her words to make one feel every ounce of hurt, heart break and happiness. Toxic is probably the best of The Lights of Peril Series, but then again, I've had a soft spot for Shame and the road he's traveled since I started the series!!!
Above & beyond 5 Stars! Not sure what else to say but this by far has been my absolute favorite biker series to date) I have loved a lot of biker books but this series just is on a whole different level, I mean WOWZA..... The emotions you experience are a serious rollercoaster ride for sure! This book on Shame and may I add, Shame oh Shame you ARE just AMAZING....I mean no words here for that guy, I am in total lust and love with him, lolol)oops, ok, back to the book, hehehe, his POV was just raw, real, filled with so much hurt and betrayal yet his all consuming love for Mace and her family made up and then some for the life was dealt as a kid..... His love for Mace, son, friends was just so touching... this book was PERFECT in every sense and totally wrapped up this terrific series) PS I hope and pray we get a book on Ace in the future) Kudos to AC Bextor and Congrats to you on a masterpiece!
Toxic was one of those reads that lifted you up, made you belly laugh, made your heart break, made you want to commit atrocious acts towards those biological people we have no choice but to call parents.
A.C. Bextor made the ending to the LIghts of Peril MC series one of the BEST reads I've enjoyed in a very long time. There was never a time during this book did I find myself skimming through pages, feeling bored with the same alpha/weak female story line, feeling like the main characters were contrived, etc.
Shame, Hem, Mace and Sadey were simply made to start and finish this 3 book series. I finished Toxic feeling like I actually knew them, could feel each of their stories, and wanted only the best for them.
I totally laughed so hard reading the beginning/middle of this book because it was told when Mace and Sadey were 5yrs old and growing up. Told from Shame's POV, it was classic of a 17 yr old kid who grew up from hard knocks to meet these tiny little girls who he instantly connected with from the get go. Some of the things that Mace and Sadey did as little girls had me cracking up. I was glad that we got to learn about all of the back story (Doc, Tank) and all 4 main characters from childhood up to the present.
I highly recommend that if you haven't read the Light of Peril MC series, please buy the books today.
1. Holding On
2. The Way Home
3. Toxic
You won't be disappointed with spending a few dollars for each book. Each book was well worth the read!!
